Meet the GLOBAL Team

Gerardo is a Financial Advisor and co-founding partner of GLOBAL Financial Services, LLC and GFS Advisors, LLC. Mr. Chapa, along with his associates established GLOBAL Financial Services, LLC in 1994 and is a member of the GLOBAL Board of Directors. Prior to the establishment of GLOBAL he was associated with Kidder Peabody and Co. Inc. and Goldman Sachs and Co. Inc. Mr. Chapa graduated from Mexico’s Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM) with a BSE in Engineering. He also holds an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business from Stanford University in Palo Alto, California.

Victor joined Global Financial Services in 2006. Prior to that Victor worked at Mexican steelmaker Hylsamex (now Ternium), where he held various positions in the Treasury and Strategic Planning departments. Mr. Villarreal earned an MBA with a concentration in finance from the UCLA Anderson School of Management and graduated cum laude with a B.A. degree in Economics from Mexico’s Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM) . Victor is a holder of the CFA Charter since 2013.

Claudia joined Global in 1994 and has considerable experience in a broad range of products, including fixed income, equities and mutual funds. Prior to the establishment of Global she was associated with Kidder Peabody and Co. Inc. Claudia holds a B.S in Chemical Engineering from UAM in Mexico, a MSc. in Chemical Engineering from UMIST in the UK and a MBA from the University of Houston. Claudia is a holder of the CFA charter since 2006.

Jose joined Global in 2007. Prior to joining Global Jose worked for Grupo Financiero Banorte in the Corporate and Investment Banking area. Jose holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Mexico’s Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM) and an MBA from HEC School of Management in Paris.

Juan Carlos joined GLOBAL in 2006. He has worked in the financial services industry for 18 years with experience in Corporate Credit, Equity Trading, Options and Futures. Juan Carlos holds a B.A. in Economics from Mexico’s Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM), and a MBA from The University of Texas at Austin. Juan Carlos is a holder of the CFA Charter since 2013.

Daniel has 24 years of experience helping families invest and grow their wealth, protect their assets, and plan for future generations. He is involved in all aspects of the wealth management process including portfolio design and investment selection, risk management, and financial planning. Daniel is a member of GLOBAL Board of Directors. He holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley, and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Bernardo joined Global in 2018. He previously worked as the LatAm transportation sector equity analyst with GBM Casa de Bolsa, and with Cartica, a Washington, D.C., activist hedge-fund. Bernardo is Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), and graduate of the University of Chicago (MBA), and ITAM (B.S. in Actuarial Science and Statistics).

Alfredo joined GLOBAL Financial Services in 1995. Prior to joining GFS, Mr. Tellez was an associate with McKinsey and Co. Inc. Mr. Tellez holds a Bachelors and Masters in Mechanical Engineering from Rice University.

Jack is a 40-year veteran in the financial services industry. He joined GLOBAL in January 2011 as the COO following the merger with The Edelman Financial Group (formerly Sanders Morris Harris Group) and is a current member of the GLOBAL Board of Directors. Prior to that Mr. Bruno was Senior Vice President of the Wealth Management division of Sanders Morris Harris Inc. Mr. Bruno began his career at Merrill Lynch in 1984 and over his 20 years with Merrill Lynch gained experience in operations, technology, finance and accounting, compliance, and sales management. Mr. Bruno has also held the position of Chief Compliance Officer, Director of Operations and Anti-Money Laundering Officer during his career. Mr. Bruno graduated Cum Laude with Bachelor of Science degrees in Finance and Marketing from LaSalle University in Philadelphia. He holds the Series 4, 7, 9, 10, 24, 31, 53, 63, 65, 87 licenses and carries the Certified Regulatory and Compliance Professional (CRCP) designation.

William Cathriner (“Bill”) has been active in financial services for 33 years, primarily serving in a compliance capacity. Prior to GLOBAL Bill was Chief Compliance Officer for the broker-dealer Banorte Securities International and its affiliated registered investment adviser. Prior to that he was with the BBVA Compass Group overseeing securities compliance for their operations in the U.S. and Puerto Rico. His experience also includes compliance work at the mutual fund complex and large investment advisor, INVESCO AIM. He has served as President of the Executive Association of Houston and he has also served as an expert witness in securities litigation cases and is an Arbitrator for industry with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (“FINRA”). He was elected to the District 6 Business Conduct Committee for FINRA, has spoken at industry conferences, and he hold the Series 7, 24, 27, 53, 55, 63, and 65 licenses. He also holds a BA as well as an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin.

Mr. Lopez has over 26 years of experience in Retail and Private Banking, with a concentration in risk management, operations, and compliance. He joined Global Financial Services, L.L.C., in July 2021, as the AML Compliance Officer. Prior to joining Global, Mr. Lopez served in several management and supervisory roles, most recently as KYC Manager for Deutsche Bank, a large multinational financial institution. At Deutsche, Mr. Lopez was in charge of enhanced due diligence for ultra-high net worth clients, with complex account structures deriving from high-risk jurisdictions. Mr. Lopez holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of Houston and a Post-Graduate degree in International Business Administration from the University of Liverpool. He is also a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist with a CAMS designation since 2016. Mr. Lopez is fluent in Spanish and English.
